The Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) is one of South Africa’s largest independent, interdisciplinary research institutes. AHRI aims to become a source of fundamental discoveries into the susceptibility, transmission and cure of HIV and TB and related diseases, seeking ways to improve diagnosis, prevention and treatment. The Head of Facilities Management reports to the AHRI COO and is a member of the AHRI Operations Management Team. The Head will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan for a world class facilities environment that complements AHRI’s science agenda. From time to time the Head of Facilities Management may be required to perform other related duties and tasks as authorised by the COO.
1. B Eng in built environment field or equivalent
2. Registration with a professional body e.g. SACAP
3. Post graduate qualification in business management is recommended.
4. 10 yrs’ experience in facilities management of a research & technology institution
5. 5 yrs’ experience at senior management level within a scientific research and/or tech institution
6. Advanced knowledge and experience in using various building management systems
