The Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) is a multidisciplinary, independent research institute based across two sites in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and we are currently looking for a self-directed, highly motivated and reliable Site Coordinator to join our fast pace Clinical Research Department to supervise and oversee the team of study coordinator(s) and/or research assistant(s) to provide overall project management of clinical trial implementation activities.

The CTU Site Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and administration of clinical trials under the direction of the Clinical Trial Unit Lead and the Principal Investigator. The CTU site coordinator will develop, implement, and coordinate research and administrative procedures for the successful management of clinical trials. The incumbent will perform diverse administrative duties requiring analysis, sound judgment, and a high level of knowledge of study specific protocols. The incumbent will be required to travel between AHRI-Durban campus and AHRI- Somkhele campus on a weekly basis to provide oversight and monitoring of CTU activities
1.A life science or healthcare field degree or equivalent; a Masters’ degree preferred
1.Two/three years of experience in a clinical research management position
2.Previous experience in conducting clinical trials desired (minimum of 1 year coordinating a

4.Familiarity with HIV/AIDS and/or TB and/or COVID-19 and Africa medical settings are desired
5.End-user computer efficiency, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products
